If you don’t know from the outset how much you are willing to spend, having an initial idea of your budget will help you focus on planning realistic goals. With an unlimited budget would come unlimited choices, and it would be difficult to make any choices!
The kitchen should reflect your lifestyle. It should accommodate:
- Your Cooking Needs
- Provide the type of space you need for dining
- Offer Storage
Kitchen Remodeling Considerations:
Size of the Space - The size of your kitchen will dictate the layout: Ask yourself... Is there room for an island? Does space allow for a prep sink? Where can you squeeze in extra storage?
Existing Layout - Don’t feel married to your kitchen’s existing footprint.
Infrastructure - Depending on the age of your kitchen, you might confront electrical or plumbing concerns as you remodel.
Homeowner’s Lifestyle - Ask yourself these questions... How will you use the kitchen? What type of cook are you? How do you entertain? You can even identify kitchen likes/dislikes to help!
Budget - Decide where to save and where to splurge. It's important to set a realistic budget.
